I think the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe is beautiful. You do have to get a permit.

I always see tons of brides taking wedding photos at the fountain in Rosemont on Higgins and River Road. It might be nice for engagement pics too. Not sure what else is around there though.

If you have your heart set on downtown locations, I have been to Lolla the past few years, and although its insanely crowded around Grant Park (obviously), its not any more crazy than normal in other areas. I bet places like the LaSalle street bridge, Chicago Cultural Center, etc, would be empty. You could even take the Metra to avoid traffic.

Morton Arboretum is gorgeous.  There are definitely a lot of different places in the city if you still wanted them.  We did some of ours in Lincoln Park, the zoo has this cool structure.  And then along North Ave beach.

Here are ours for some ideas!  Good luck!

North side of North Avenue Beach, like every Chicago bride!  Great views of the city and we play beach volleyball so a happy place for us.

If you come into the city, you don’t have to go near Lolla to get great pics!  If you want to include the lake, try somewhere like Montrose or North Ave beach.  You could also then go to Lincoln Park.

We did our photos at Wrigley Field, the Kedzie Street Bridge and a store called Lightology.  You can see our photos here:

I second Morton Arboretum … my friend also likes to use Graue Mill in Oak Brook.  Both are a little far for Wheeling… maybe you could explore that forest preserve on Higgins Rd in Schaumburg for some good locations?

We did ours at the Morton Arboretum. Very pretty, and it held special significance for us too. You DO need a permit to shoot there though–I think it was like $50. Do this at least three days in advance.

We went to Chicago and did some around the Art Institute and by the legs sculptures.

If you want to stay around Wheeling, you could go to the forest preserve. If you like artsy spaces, you could go to the underpass that has graffiti all over it. Here’s a pic of mine from years ago:

You could get some cool shots with the railroad tracks and the trees that line it beyond the overpass. If you don’t know where this is, you can PM me 🙂

Another place you could go is the garden by, what is it, Arlington Hts Road and Euclid? My cousin did his wedding pictures there, and it’s really pretty.
