I felt so guilty after buying my veil…especially because I don’t really want to wear it now. I only got it because my mom said “you are wearing a veil” in her command voice. I still feel like a kid when she does that lol.

There’s a veil that matches my dress (matches the flower lace detailing with sparkle), I didn’t buy it because it’s not long enough (I want a really long cathedral veil) but I almost did. It would have cost me $650. So to answer your question veils are extremely pricy, but I’m willing to fork out the money for it

I am not wearing a veil and am choosing to wear a fascinator instead.. but if I did, I think I would try my hand at making one. I don’t know if i could justify $50+ on a veil…. but that being said, I think most of the veils ($50 to $650 and everything in between) I see are absolutely GORGEOUS and I’m slightly jealous!!!

Mine was $23 from ebay.  Simple single layer elbow length beaded edge.  There was no way I was paying more than $50 for one.

My veil was $25, and custom. I ordered mine offline from obridal.com. I tried on veils in the store, and took note of what I wanted to look like, then ordered it from this website. It was beautiful, and they e-mailed with me to make sure what I was ordering would look nice with my dress (I wasn’t sure about length). I looked up a million reviews, so I wasn’t worried about how it would go. 🙂

Promise I don’t work for them, you can see I have a bunch of posts here. I just really loved my veil. 🙂

Originally I was looking at very inexpensive veils but I wasn’t finding what I wanted. I was really looking for a mantilla at the time. I started doing more and more research and was finding gorgeous expensive veils! I ended up getting a veil SO much more than I thought I would ever spend. It was $200 on Etsy. And also the most gorgeous thing I wore on my wedding day. Seriously, I had such bad dress regret, but I LOVED my veil!! It ended up being more than $200 because I had to pay int’l rush shipping since I ordered very close to my wedding date. I would highly reccommend Etsy – if you’re not looking to spend as much as I did then my seller probably isn’t for you, but just so you know, I bought from Sibo Designs.

I want a really gorgeous cathedral length veil with embellishment.  My dream veil would be a silk tulle one like Kate wore in the royal wedding, it had a soft filmy quality that was so dreamy and pretty.

However, I’m going to go a more practical route.  I’m setting aside some money and going to start scouring all the local thrift stores and consignment clothing shops.  I think it will take patience and I doubt I’ll get a silk tulle veil, but I do think I can find something close to my vision in regular tulle for $100 or less if I start early and keep an eye out.

@StormyRose:  i was just about to suggest this same site.  the veil i fell in love with was $250 in the bridal boutique where i bought my dress.  On weddingfactorydirect, it was $70 (EXACT same one).  And then i sold it for $50.   then i bought it again for my AHR and sold that one for $70, lol.   total net spent = $20.

ETA: oh and my $70 veil cost that much because it had Swarovski crystals lining the edge. it was one of the most expensive ones on the site.  Like Storm said, there were plenty others for less than $50.

I’m going to make my own, because the prices are so rediculous and it’s super easy to make a simple one yourself.

I didn’t vote because there wasn’t an option for me. My veil was $35.

Go look on Etsy… NOW! 😀

I actually only bought materials and it was less than $50 but I chose that b/c it was the lowest.  MOHs mom made mine.  She told me I was a fool to pay full price.  She also did my SILs which was based on a $1200 veil she fell in love with for less than $100.  What can I say she is amazing!

I paid $100 for my veil, but only because I got it on clearance.  It was originally priced at twice that.
