I’ve been considering baking sugar cookies for our favors. I heard they can be frozen 1 month ahead of time. I was planning to bake them in June, freeze them, and take them out 2 days before the wedding and bag them. We’re on a tight budget; I’d love to pay someone to make them, but can’t afford that. :/.
Has anyone gone this route? How did it turn out? 🙂 Any tips or advice? Does anyone know if sugar cookie frosting melts in the heat? – still researching this crazy idea :).

Sugar cookie frosting can melt in the heat… my sister tried shipping them once. 🙁
I plan on baking snickerdoodles after rolling them in colored sugar that matches our colors, and I’m doing this 3 months ahead (you can store snickerdoodles in the freezer for 12 months! Crazy!). I plan on trying a batch out next week to see how they end up tasting. 🙂

royal icing shouldnt melt that easily you could try that… just keep the layer fairly thin so its not like biting into a rock but not so thin it will be brittle
