So, we’ve been married since July but Darling Husband and I are planning our honeymoon now. I should have gotten on this a while ago but I didn’t. My bad. We are leaving during Xmas through New Years. For at least a week or so. I would have loved to go to Asia or Africa but Darling Husband is so not into that. I think he’d rather lounge and eat at an all inclusive…at least the ones we’ve been in, he liked. I OTOH, would love to visit some museums, do some outdoor activities, hike a bit etc etc. I don’t know where to start. I want to stay in a really kick ass 5 star hotel and just go all out and have some fun. Please let me have any suggestions on where to go, what to do and where to stay. We’ve been to a Cancun and the Bahamas so that’s out. Help bees…looking forward to suggestions and why we should go where you do suggest. Thanks.

Belize is a great place to go. There are great all inclusives as well as beaches. And there is also great culture and activities.
Belize has a Mayan ruin and most of the resorts will do trips to the big Mayan ruins in Guatemala.
There’s also hiking, horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, and plenty of food and swim up bars.
The official language of the country is English and they have a fixed exchange rate with the US so it’s easy to get around.
I highly recommend Belize!
This is where we stayed and it was great:
If you want to go somewhere a little pricy-er Francis Ford Coppola has 2 or 3 resorts in Belize which are supposed to be amazing.

Any other suggestions?

@bRooklynRocks: I’ve also been to Costa Rica and loved it there as well. Went as part of an ethnobiology study abroad trip so I did more study in the jungle and less vacation. But there were some amazing beaches and beautiful jungles as well.
I don’t know as much about the resort scene there, but I don’t think you could go wrong there either.

Also, have you thought about Hawaii? Maui is fantastic, I’m not sure about the all inclusives but there’s lots of outdoorsy things to do as well as fantastic beaches to lounge on.

@bRooklynRocks: Since your going around xmas/nye I heard that macchu picchu does some great holiday festivities! I would skip jamaica since its hard to leave the resort by yourselves nowadays. Belize/Costa Rica wouldhave that outdoory/adventure part for you as well as a beach. As far as Argentina goes, you’ll have your museums and nightlife and kickass hotels in the capital but unless you venture out there isn’t any hiking. Oh, and the beaches aren’t anything great and the water is colddd
