Hi bees! First post here! My fiance and I are having trouble finding a venue that fits our personalities, and I’ve read lots of awesome brainstorming threads on here before, so I’m hoping someone can help us!
We live in the NYC area, with most of our friends and family here as well, but we’d be willing to travel about 1.5/2 hrs to find a cool place! We both love retro styles and things of the past, from the 50s, 60s, 70s especially. We feel we were born in the wrong era! To give you a better idea, we go crazy for forgotten places that haven’t been updated in decades, like retro bowling alleys and old mom and pop bars and restaurants. If we could find a venue built somewhere between the 50-70s that hasn’t been renovated, we would be thrilled! Does anyone know of some truly vintage, retro, vibey looking places in NY/NJ/CT? Social club/church halls, large restaurants/bars, park lodges/pavilions, performance spaces, banquet halls… even a bowling alley if it’s big enough! We are open to ideas. Thank you for your help guys!!
PS- We’re looking to invite 75-100 guests and would prefer the standard Saturday night reception if possible. 🙂
