I live in an apartment complex where I have to take my laundry to the apartment’s facilities or elsewhere. I never, ever dry my clothes, but Fiance does. Anyways, we decided it was too much money to wash and dry the clothes where we are living. We’d rather save our quarters for just washing. I loved it when I lived at my grandmom’s because she had a clothes drying rack. It was perfet. Now I need to find one or two for my apartment because hanging clothes all over the place is unpleasing to the eye and damn right messy. Any one have good yet cheap ones in their homes?

My friend has this one and I did my laundry at her house all through college so I used it quite a bit, it’s a pretty good rack. A little rickety and cheap feeling but you can get a lot of stuff on it, and anything you need to lay flat can go on the top part. You can also fold it into different configurations I think — like if you want it wider and flatter.

And it folds flat for storage!

@Kant: So funny. I was just looking at that one myself. So glad to hear someone actually used it. I might order about 2 or 3 of those since they’re a bit small. We do our laundry in large quanities so we’re not constantly running back and forth to the laundry room.
ETA: Actually I might go to the store first to see if they have any because I have a ton of coupons. -crosses fingers-

When times were VERY tough I washed all my clothes, and dried them at home. It really wasn’t that hard but sometimes it took forever for something to dry. I would buy a rolling rack for your clothes, and put them on hangers. Here is one from Wal Mart. Also, it may be a good idea to get a steamer for your clothes. I would try to find one used but honestly it’s a really good investment epecially if you don’t have a dryer.

I have this and I love it:
It folds up flat for storage, and it holds SO much. There are bars all along the legs and everything, so you can hang smaller stuff there.

I have a homemade one (from Amish country) that is just plain wood. I use it everytime I wash, even though I have a dryer in my house. They are SO useful. I also had a metal one from target. Any kind really works.
