FI’s parents are throwing us a party this weekend. Since I am unable to manage my long hair grown out for the wedding, I’ve booked an appointment to have it styled. Part of me feels like a casual, loose up do might look good, but part of me says leave it down. This is not a life or death thing, but what do you all think?
This is a picture of the dress. fizicsGuy would want me to point out that this outfit was entirely a gift from him. He bought me the dress right after I defended my PhD, and the shoes after he defended his and moved to his new job 6 mos before I could (I know, I like how getting gifts on both occasions works too). This is the first time I’ve worn the dress though 🙂
BTW, the ribbon ties in front, just didn’t want to crease it.

I’m not sure how long your hair is but if its past your shoulders, what if you wore it down with some big loose curls? Its such a cute dress!

I think if you are going to be outdoors, I would wear it up so you won’t be hot. Otherwise, if you are going to be indoors, I would wear it down or half up, half down. Cute dress!

I think the loose chiffon buns all the hairstylists are doing this days would be cute, and very chic! Or maybe I just read too many celebrity beauty magazines…

Are you wearing your hair up or down for the actual wedding day? It might be cool to change it up and do whichever you’re not doing for the wedding for the rehearsal. I do think either wearing it down in loose curls or wearing it up in a loose up-do would work.
Tessabella makes a good point–if you’re going to be outside, you may want to wear it up. I know I originally planned to wear mine down and curly, but it was pouring rain and humid, so I ended up with a make-shift up-do.

If your hair is long enough you should do a low side pony with your hair curled. I think you’ll definitely want it up in case you get hot!

Thanks ladies for the advice! I ended up going loosely up with lots of curls…which by the way, almost never stay but lasted the whole night! Thanks to the amazing Whitney at "Kenneth L" Salon. If anyone is in the Poulsbo/Suquamish area of Washington state, I highly recommend her.
