One of my dad’s favorite bands is U2, so whenever I hear a U2 song, I tend to think of him. Does anyone know any U2 songs that might work? I haven’t asked him yet. I’m trying to get ideas first.
I was thinking maybe “The Sweetest Thing” Although, I believe the song was written to his wife, so maybe that would be awkward?
Other artists he likes are Coldplay, Radiohead, The Killers, etc. Maybe someone knows a song by one of them that would work?
We have a good relationship, but I don’t think something too sappy would work for us.

There are a lot of great songs of theirs jsut a matter of if you want a slow song or you don’t mind it being faster?! ‘Sweetest Thing’ was written for his wife but who cares if it moves you use it! Or ‘Beautiful Day’? They have covers of ‘Unchained Melody’ and ‘Everlasting Love’ that are great too–they are on the “b sides” of the best of 1980-1990 album. Also on that is a fvorite of mine ‘Hallelujah Her She Comes.’ ‘Walk On’ is pretty–though not sure on the lyrics now that I’m really thining about it 🙂 Also they do a cover of a Ryan Adams song called ‘When the Stars Go Blue’–it’s with the girl from The Corrs it’s a great song too. Fix You by Coldplay is good too but sad so maybe too sappy…Over all I say any song that means something to you and your dad is perfect! My dad and I might be doing a U2 song that we just love (When Love Comes to Town) and it’s not really “wedding” like. Plus my Fh and my first dance is to “Maggie May” because it’s our song–again a weird message. Do what you love it’s for you two no one else!!
