I HATE duvets, mostly because I seem to have the inability to properly put one on the blanket.  That’s become my hubby’s job.

BUT, we usually pick them up when we find places that have nice patterns on sale.  We stay away from IKEA’s because the Swedes measurements for bedding is different than the rest of europe so unless you have an IKEA dekbed (is the english word a down comforter? the blanket inside the duvet anyways) then the duvet you buy elsewhere is WAY TOO BIG.

I’ve bought some in the past from here http://www.wehkamp.nl/wonen-slapen/dekbedovertrek-hoeslakens/C28_8H3/

@edepp2010:  i have a few.  mostly inherited from my grandmother.  they are hard to come by inexpensively.  try kohls, marshalls, tj maxx, etc.

a few years ago, i was searching for a duvet covers, since i use them on all my down comforters and couldn’t find a pattern i liked for under $200.  i love lacoste colors and bought 2 tops sheets and sewed them together.  since i chose my own sheets, i was able to use 2 different color sheets so i could flip it over depending on my mood.  i worked out really great.

Crane & Canopy.

Priced really well for the quality, and they donate a bedding set to a women’s shelter for each set purchased which I think is highly admirable.

Super happy with mine. It’s gorgeous.

@edepp2010:  I’ve bought 2 duvet covers from Winners (same company as TJ Maxx) by Margaret Muir. They’re beautiful designs, simplistic but interesting, embroidered cotton. You can also get them online but they’re usually only $50-$70 in-store.

This is an item I always buy when visiting my DH’s family in Ireland. They’re so much cheaper and I like that they’re usually not a thick so they don’t make the comforter so hot. I’ve ordered from Marks and Spencer before, they ship free to the US I think. And Dunnes has nice selections when I visit them.

We have the grand embroidered duvet and shams from Pottery Barn in the gray mist. Love it so much! Crisp and classic.
