My fiance and I are getting ready to have our engagement photo session. We live in NYC and definitely want pictures that represent the city and lifestyle but would like to find a place that isn’t so common. Don’t get me wrong, I love Central Park and the Public Library, but all of my friends have had their pictures done in spots like these. Any suggestions for unique spots that make for great pictures? We only have an hour session and probably can’t move around to much.

Flushing Meadows Corona Park (next to the unisphere)
Any museum (MoMA?)
Coney Island (fun shoot)
Meatpacking District (think cobblestone streets)

I would have never thought of Coney Island either but a photographer I was interested in had did a shoot there and it was really nice and unique. It was done towards the end of the day so with that kind of natural lighting, the pictures came out beautiful.
Also, Fort Tryon Park uptown.

a11ieny: Anywhere that’s “your” spot. If you guys like to party down in the LES, go there! If you frequent the Harlem jazz clubs, head up that direction. Instead of going for a place that is NYC iconic, go for a place that represents your life together there 🙂
