We’re serving primarily beer and wine at our reception but would love some signature cocktails as well. I definitely want to do a red wine sangria (rum, oj, etc) and I’m wondering what other drink will be a nice compliment to that.
I’m not big on mixed drinks so I don’t know very many, but I would love to offer guests an option in that department. Bonus points for drinks without crazy garnishes and without too many ingredients. No crushed ice, please. 🙂
What do you think would go well as an alternative? Share ideas and recipes if you have them!!

@Roe: Hmm well, what kind of liquor do you like? Gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila? I’d say the easiest would be something with vodka or gin. Personally, I’m a gin girl so I like a gimlet, or a sloe gin fizz. Are martinis an option or are they “up drinks?”
Alternatively, you can do a champagne cocktail or a bellini. Or if you’re looking for pitchers of things (if that’s how you’re serving sangria), how about mojitos?

Mojitos might work. We are serving the sangria in pitchers. I personally love tequila, but the sangria is “my” drink that I will be downing all night, haha. Gin would probably be a good liquor. Maybe Tom Collins would work in a large batch?

I think mojitos and sangria would be delicious – especially for a June wedding. Tom Collins are also great – very Mad Men. 🙂 Another suggestion would be a French 75? Champagne and gin just seems so festive and refreshing.

I have served this at summer parties and it is such a huge hit: http://smittenkitchen.com/2010/07/porch-swing/

My favorite drink is pineapple juice and malibu (which could be swapped for any pineapple or coconut rum) It’s my favorite because it’s easy (2 ingredients) and tastes good
