I am hoping to get your advice on what is probably a very small problem and I almost feel silly even worrying about it, but here goes. We are getting married on July 4th, 2009 in my hometown, a pretty small southern city. Given that July 4th this year is a Saturday and that most everyone will have Friday, July 3rd off from work quite a few guests will be arriving in town early. Several family members and family friends have been incredibly generous and are throwing parties for us throughout the weekend. For the invitation we are doing a pocket design that includes a card with all of the activities on it so when the invitation arrives people will have all the information to make reservations instead of us having to send separate invites out for each event. The problem is right now the card is titled "Celebrations" and I think it sounds like I am on a cruise ship and am telling everyone to meet me on the lido deck. My mom (who could be referred to as a momzilla) refuses to consider using the word activities in any way shape or form. So I guess what I am looking for is a suggestion on what other title we could use for that insert. Or alternately if you think I am being ridiculous about the celebrations thing you can let me know.

"I think it sounds like I am on a cruise ship and am telling everyone to meet me on the lido deck."
Hehe, I can see that! But really, I wouldn’t worry about it. A wedding IS a celebration. It seems like appropriate wording to me.
You could try "Events," "Fetes," or "Happenings."

I think "Celebrations" works fine! I also like "Events" and "Happenings," although now the word Happening makes me think of that horror movie. "Get Togethers" is a little more casual but might work, too, or just a heading of "Please Join Us…"
