My hubby and I are going to be flying to Turkey for our wedding celebration in a few months. I haven’t picked out my dress yet, but before I get my hopes up, I”m wondering if I should be looking for something in particular since I have to travel with it.
Are some dresses easier to travel with than others? What about fabrics? Would my dress bag have to meet some certain airline requirements to be able to take it as carry on luggage?

I carried my dress to Turkey in a regular garment bag. It was a two piece with a corset top and full organza skirt, definitely not a “destination” dress. Took it as a carry on and begged the stewardesses to store it in their quarters, with their belongings. People are usually very understanding and helpful when you tell them it’s your wedding dress. It was slightly wrinkled at the end of the trip but in good shape for the most part.

I was going to suggest what Meliss said. They have cabin storage that can keep it good. luckily, most flights business class isn’t full these days so you should be able to get it somewhere safe. Unfortunately, for international flights, when they have a crew of about 12+ sometimes the attendants storage is pretty full. Unless they are a grinch they’ll help you find a good place for it.
