I’m so excited! I just ordered our gift bags for Jamaica! So I’m in the process of trying to figure out what to put in them. This is what I have so far and I’d love any other suggestions or cute ideas 🙂
This is the bag 🙂
1. oh NO! box
- pepto tablettes
2. Program of the wedding events
3. Small box of candy
4. Sandal flip flop bottle opener
5. Inflatable beach ball (I thought something fun would be nice. Just a little toy for everyone to play with)
I feel like it needs something else but I’m just not sure what. I was thinking shot glasses but we’ll be traveling and I don’t want them to get broken. It is glass after all. And then I’m also going to get bubbles for everyone but they’ll be on their seats at the ceremony so people don’t forget to bring them from their welcome bag. I was also thinking about getting some fun party stuff for the reception…like glow in the dark glasses and bracelets. Does that sound tacky?
I’m really just looking for some other ideas that I can put in the bag. Thanks!!!

acglandorf: that bag is awesome!
Maybe also add a map of the surrounding area + list of activities the guests could do outside of the wedding?
Also, little brain teaser booklets like Sudoku and crosswords always delight my old lady soul 🙂
And glow in the dark glasses and bracelets are great, everyone loves those.
If your budget is bigger, consider personalised towels anflip-flops.
Lastly, in the Oh No box I would add some hand sanitizer and sun burn cream (for those who did not use the sunscreen).

maybe if lots of people are extending their trips to Jamaica beyond your wedding, you include something like brochures or coupons for cool stuff to do after your event?

You could buy a small bottle of rum when you get to Jamaica. Other Jamaican items would be coffee or jerk spice mix.

isabeelle: There’s only so much I can fit in the oh NO! box but I do like the burn cream idea! That’s good. And I thought about flip flops but I don’t want to have to get everyone’s sizes that would be a hassle. I like the little sudoku puzzles though! That’s a good idea 🙂
beautifulansuz: It’s going to be at an all inclusive so they’ll get all that information when they check in. (And they’ll have someplace to put it lol in the bag!)
julies1949: Maybe what I’ll do is get all of the bags together and then when we go down to Jamaica, I’ll get a couple of extra things to put in the bags…like the rum and the coffee. But again, it’s at an all inclusive so I don’t know if I need to add the rum….

Bottled water and maybe some kind of a snack?

Buy some cheap wholesale wayfarer-type sunglasses! Maybe a koozie for drinking on the beach? And I second the activity book idea! Great for relaxing!

paperbones: I was totally thinking about sunglasses! It’s something they can wear on the beach without having to worry about their expensive ones getting ruined.

Does the Oh NO box include a mini sewing kit?

I love the cheap sunglasses idea. We went to an all-inclusive recently and a whole group of people (family reunion, wedding?) had the ones with colored sides and some kind of writing on them! Really fun and useful idea!

claroquesi: No. I thought about that too. But I don’t want to get too much in the oh NO! box. I want the bag to be more than that, you know?

gorgeousgarnet: I also found some giant foam light up sticks!! I love the idea! My mom thinks it’s too much though…not sure :/

Yes I see, but it can be really helpful! Believe me, you don’t want to be in a hotel room, getting ready to attend your friend’s wedding, and a button falls out or a strap snaps, and have nothing to fix it

claroquesi: Don’t most hotels provide sewing kits though? I think it’s standard, no?
