We are thinking about having Fiance, SS and DS wear khaki suits for the wedding. Its outside and an 11:00 ceremony, so it will be less formal. Our wedding colors are dark purple, lavender and accents of yellow. I am torn on what color ties to have them wear. It would be cool to have Fiance wear something subtle like a darker khaki and the boys wear lavender, but I don’t think my 16 year old SS will go for that! We aren’t going to have any attendents, so we can’t go with girls’ dresses to help. Any ideas??

What if you did a strip with lavendar/purple and a more neutral, "masculine" color like a khaki or gold? Think they could stomach that?

Mrs. Sea Breeze made their Groomsmen wear purple (shirts and ties!)and I thought it looked great! I think you can insist on the purple…it’s really not that un-masculine…especially if it’s only a tie!

I love that suggestion Latte! Clicked on that and really liked it!
Maybe a striped tie with a lavender and a deeper eggplant/purple color for the groom?

Here’s a very nice tie..lighter lavender with touch of purpleish-eggplant from the tie bar… tie bar also has lots of wedding ties and ties for our sons too!

My wedding is also at 11. My Bridesmaid or Best Man are wearing either claret/wine or navy blue. Guys are wearing khaki pants & navy jackets. The ties are a claret/wine & navy paisly with a shot of gold in there. They really look sharp! You could do the same kind of thing-or like that tie shown above-that is snazzy!
