    Personally, I wanted the guys to be in simple black suits because we’re having a somewhat informal wedding. But Fiance insists on tuxes with the fancy vests and everything because, in his words, “When are you ever going to see me that dressed up again?” True enough.

    My Fiance will have a custom Italian made suit. We are both very excited about it! 🙂

    I think black suits and black tuxs are so similar – so to keep it easy for our guys, we asked that they wear black suits since they already owned one anyway 🙂

    I really like that suit – HOT!

    My guys are renting tuxes from menswearhouse because nice suits are too expensive and we didnt want them to spend more than 130 per person, plus we wanted the vest and tie options and we wouldnt get that with a suit

    We picked tuxedos. I love the look of suits though. Our reason for going with tuxedos was because it was considerably less expensive and less of a hassle for our groomsmen. I considered having them each just wear a black suit that they already own, but in the end we were afraid that might look too uncoordinated…maybe we should have just gone for it!

    Suits. Rental tuxes just do not fit my Fiance and he’s very self conscious in them. He’s a bigger guy so the jackets are always a mess (something that will fit around his belly will be enormous in the shoulders). We’re planning on having the guys buy brown suits from Mens Warehouse. A few times a year they have BOGO sales so we’re hoping to catch one of those. The guys will be able to buy the suit for the same price that they would pay to rent the tux. It’s a no brianer to me.

    We just asked our guys to wear a suit they already have.  We preferred black or dark gray but said that navy was okay too.  Three wore black (including my husband) and his brother wore dark gray and it looked great!  We didn’t want them to spend the extra money and my husband actually was able to find his suit that originally cost $500 for only $80 plus his mom offered to buy it for him as part of Christmas.

    My Fiance will be in a suit because it will go better with my tea length dress and we’re getting hitched in Las Vegas so it’s informal. Plus, he will get a lot more wear out of a suit. We’re not having any groomsmen or a wedding party.

    We’re having an outdoor wedding on a river bank. Because of the setting, I opted for a tea-length dress (I didn’t want anything dragging in the dirt and getting mucky). Tuxes would have looked too formal, so we opted for navy-blue suits.

    @DCSquared: Thats a good deal!!!

    The only thing is that with a tux you get shirt + tie +vest+ suspenders, but with a suit the guys would have to buy these separately

    Neither really, but closer to a suit. Our guys are wearing something like this:
