Now that summer will officially be starting this weekend, what are you doing to prevent tan lines for your strapless dress?
I actually don’t spend too much time outside during the summer but without fail even with sunblock, I always get some kind of farmers/driving tan which can last through winter. I’ve been diligent about reapplying high SPF sunblock to my chest and neck area and wearing light long sleeved cardigans lately, but I’m wondering how long I’ll be able to keep it up when it starts to get really hot over the next couple of months.
I’m thinking of getting some long sleeved linen shirts and maybe even a sun hat, but I’ve never really worn either so I’m not sure if they really help keep you cool or how protective they really are. I can’t wear tube tops since I’m heavy chested, and I don’t want to go to a tanning salon either since I’ve heard sprays and traditional tanning beds may not help even out tan lines.
While we’re at it, what kind of sunblock do you like to use for both face and body? I’m on the hunt for a body sunblock that doesn’t make me smell like I’m about to head to the beach.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I made a pre-emptive strike against tan lines this year by going to the tanning salon and tanning topless. When I’m out and about in the sun, I wear SPF 50 sunscreen on my arms and chest. I don’t mind the smell, and since I use the spray variety, the smell isn’t that bad, anyway. Nothing a little body mist can’t fix.

vip0802: my wedding was the 2nd week of September and I wore strapless dresses all summer long. Except when I went to work, i wore my normal work clothes, but when I was out at the beach or just walking around, I made sure to wear a strapless dress

My wedding was last summer. I only wore strapless bathing suits, and was dilligent with the SPF. I am always really good about hats, too, which I’m sure helped.

My wedding is in July. I have told my friends I refuse to go to the beach until after the wedding. This sucks bc I love the beach but I do not want tan lines. I have started going tanning 1x per week since I have olive skin and I hold a tan pretty well and I just want a base. My Fiance is white as a ghost. we are having a Destination Wedding in Jamaica and we are both forbidden from laying on the beach until after the wedding which is about 2 days after we get there lol. I’m more afraid he will get a horrible burn and all the money we paid for the photographer will be wasted bc I do not want to be taking photos with a lobster! Lol

vip0802: Strapless dresses, some places still sell tube tops as well. I plan on starting tanning because I have psoriasis so the UV is suppose to help it out on top of the meds I am taking. Ihave avoided going out in the sun and when I have, I have used sun screen. Its gonna be a LONG summer since the wedding is in September haha.

I was going to attempt this with sunblock, but the new medication they have me on makes me a burn magnet. I’m darker than sin already go endurance athletics!

Lots and lots of sunblock and shade!!! Wide brimmed hat and sleeves sounds like a good plan.
