@mscuppycake:  I think it’ll end up being a summer engagement. We want to (pretty much have to) have a summer wedding, and we only want a 1 year engagement. Our anniversary and yearly vacations are in the summer, which I have a feeling it may end up happening on. I was hoping our anniversary this month, but I don’t think he has a ring yet….

If it had been up to me, yes, I’d want a summer engagement

@mscuppycake:  I hope I end up getting engaged this summer…who knows tho. If it was up to me, I would LOVE a summer engagement! The timing of doing it this summer would be nice because it would mean we coud have a close-to-2-year engagement like I would prefe. Hmmm and a particular event? Umm well we are planning a trip up the coast to stop in like 8 different places between san diego and northern oregon to do hiking and nature sightseeing and also tour a couple colleges for SO that are on that route. He just got 2 associates degrees and then he is looking to get a BS too if one of the schools has a good program. Last time he went to tour (on the “open house orientation” day), they had the facility locked for some reason so he was pretty irritated. This time, we are calling for a special tour to be arranged because that is total bullshit that they made him pay to go up there to tour it on the specific date and then surprise…they had it closed that day. The only thing is I doubt it will happen on this trip because my bf doesn’t really plan trips…he decides he wants to go and then leaves me to plan it lol. So idk if he would propose then, but it would sure be nice since I’m obviously picking beautiful places to stop!!

But even not on this trip would be perfect. We spend a lot of time hiking and it would mean a lot to me if he proposed somewhere nearby or somewhere where we go on our remote hiking trips hehe ;].

I don’t expect an engagement anytime soon. 🙁 More power to him if he does it though. I don’t think I care about the season we get engaged, we are thinking a fall wedding, and I know he’s talked about a 1 year engagement period. So I’m thinking he’ll propose in the fall.

I think I would want a summer engagement. I just love the idea of celebrating with the summer weather (especially being Canadian). Having a nice family bbq and telling them about the engagement then, getting to go camping for a few days alone with my beau to enjoy it, having an outdoor engagement party, etc. And one year is my ideal timeline of being engaged and I want a summer wedding so that’d work out perfectly.

I’m getting engaged this summer. I would have really loved to be engaged this past winter. I had my heart set on celebrating over the holidays, my favorite time of year! But I got over that quickly and I’m excited to have a fun outdoor engagement party 🙂

An engagement any time of year would be nice XD summer could be lovely though, nice weather, nice clothes, maybe on holiday :3

My last ‘event’ of the year with BF is our holiday in July, which is in Italy and would be wonderful and super romantic but is also unfortunately improbable as it’s 30 days away and I know for sure he hasn’t thought about it XD

Looking forward to reading the summer proposal stories from other bees though!

I may have a late summer engagement, since technically fall doesn’t begin until September 22nd.  I’m not too sure, though.  I’m never really had a seasonal preference for getting engaged, but I’m certainly okay with summer/fall!

No, I’ll actually be abroad all summer, and I really hope I don’t have to wait until next year

I don’t want a summer engagement. We’re definitely going to have a summer wedding. I’d like to have a 1.5 year engagement, so right now it would be too late to have a 2014 wedding and too early to have a 2015 wedding. My money’s on a fall or winter engagement!

That being said, I certainly wouldn’t say no if he proposed this summer. Wink

@somethingaquamarine:  I think my official engagement is imminent, though I would sooooo prefer a winter engagement. I live in a cold climate in a city that is insanely gorgeous around the Christmas holidays.

@somethingaquamarine:  I’m in the same boat as you. I’d prefer a spring 2015 wedding, but it feels too far away. I don’t know what the appropriate timeline for engagement photos are, but if I do get engaged soon, I’ll definitely want to wait until the holidays for photos!

@somethingaquamarine:  I’m hoping for spring 2015 for our wedding too. He’s agreed that it would be a good time, but we need to save up to follow through
