I recently checked out the Summit House and like most places there are pros and cons.  My fiance was worried about the noise as well … not just from the street but also from the big oil drill to the left.  I’m not an expert but I was thinking if you have your DJ set up enough speakers by the guests and behind them they should be able to hear your vows clearly.  Anyway, the Summit House was among our top venues – the ballroom is beautiful along with the views and menu and catering services looked great.  We were willing to look beyond the noise but it was a little hard to look beyond the oil drill to the side.  If we were going to choose it, we would have just booked the reception and had our ceremony at a church or elsewhere.  Anyway, good luck and hopefully you find more ideas about the street noise.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if you decided to have your wedding at the Summit house after all?  I’d love to hear how it turned out.  We’re deciding between two venues and have the exact same concerns that you did (road noise and the oil rig).

Summit House is on a super busy street. I would count on hearing sirens, horns, semis, etc.
