My wedding is in few weeks only and I am freaking out! I had sunburn from last Wed being under the sun for hours , and it hurt for few days then the redness went away except the back of my neck part , however , now I am dealing with peeling issue! I am putting lotion and trying not to rub it , but it looks ugly and my wedding is on Sept 9th!!! I am worried if this wont go away in time… my dress is strapless and has a low back
I dont tan or anything much so I am not sure if this will last a long time or will go away in few days…. 🙁

I would slather the area with aloe vera. It should definitely be done peeling by September 9th.

I think it probably will go away in time. The only worry you might have is uneven tan/colouring, which you should be able to fix with a professional spray tan or similar.
Usually it only takes a few days or a week to go, but keep putting loads of moisturiser and aftersun on it, that should help!

if you’re still peeling when the day is getting close I would say find a sugar scrub (or make it yourself) and have a darling friend give you a gentle massage with it, it will at least take away the peeliness and the redness you could always (in dire straits) have airbrushed over after you get that skin off!

I would do a scrub now and get it over with. Use a sugar scrub or a dead sea salt scrub.
Then moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

I have been through this a few times, I am AA but i still burn easily lol. Aloe vera gel helps keep the skin moist, cool and helps the redness. The peeling should stop in a few days to a week and if your color is uneven do a sugar scrub like murmur suggested.

I agrees with the PP’s and wanted to add I love the Solarcaine Aloe Gel, it’s medicated and helps my burns go down faster. Also really important is to make sure you sunscreen whenever you go out between now and the wedding, I find the new skin under the burn is sensitve to the sun.

NOXEMA. The stuff that’s been around forever. Rub it on a few times a day. Just keep the jar near you. Seriously. Best. Stuff. Ever.

I’m suffering from a nice facial sunburn after riding on a motorcycle all weekend. I’m doing the aloe vera gel. I used my mom’s facial cleanser only to find out that it had an exfoliator in it. Now, my skin’s a bit of a mess with giant pores courtesy of the exfoliator. I wish that I could work from home because it’s embarassing with my red face right now. I’m thinking of hitting up Walgreens for the Solarcaine stuff. I want the redness down. Also, Advil helps too.

I agree with @julies1949: I get sunburned more than I should (which is never), and it never peels for that long if you gently scrub and then moisturize. You shoul be okay 🙂
