I buy 1%, because I’m starting to become lactose intolerant and it doesn’t bother me as much. DH is used to 2% though, so its a little interesting.

    What are 1% and 2%?

I guess we drink skim milk – it’s the light blue top here with whole milk having a dark blue top. The Fiance likes to drink the yellow top which is skim with extra added calcium.

I also like soy, almond and rice milks.

We drink semi-skimmed, which I guess is like the 1 or 2%.

My mom is a nutritionist, so growing up we always had skim, and I still buy that for me. Kevin used to get 2%, but now he gets 1%. If one of is out we will have the other, but otherwise we just buy a gallon of each.

Only almond milk, I used to drink soy but the estrogen issue is freaking me out a bit. SO doesn’t really use milk for anything. I’m allergic to casein and lactose intolerant.

Usually 2% for cooking, almond for cereal, and my Fiance likes coconut milk for his stuff.

I wish you could choose more than one option! I buy almond (or occasionally, soy) for myself, and 1% for Fiance.

@Skittles131:  Braum’s 2%!! Unfortunately we moved to a new state that does not have any Braum’s stores, so now we buy Horizon’s organic. Regular milk from the grocery store has an odor that Braum’s and Horizon’s doesn’t have.

@Skittles131:  please don’t believe Dr. Oz. Milk (at least in the US) is fortified with all the same vitamins and nutrients. More fat just means more Saturated fat (with increased risk of heart disease…). Also, at least in some states, skim milk has more protien because they add more nonfat milk solids.

I always drank 2% and Fiance drank skim so we also compromised and get 1%. Well I compromised, if he’s buying he’ll still buy skim even though it tastes like water and I will not drink it. I also only drink chocolate milk. I haven’t had white milk since I was 2.

@Skittles131:  My Grandma is a doctor, and she says the exact same thing! Just drink whole. And unless you’re under the age of 2, you shouldn’t drink too much milk, anyway!
