    we don’t use any milk – both drink black tea and coffee and I put yoghurt on cereal. I hardly ever bake so I don’t even need to keep milk around for that.

    I usually buy a few of those mini cartons of long life milk to keep in the cupboard in case someone comes over and wants milk in their tea. so, UHT milk is my answer.

    We only drink 2% and TONS of it ,my 18 y.o. son drinks milk like a calf we go through a 4 liter jug every day.

    2% always, though if pressed, I’ll also drink 1%. I hate skim.

    I was raised on “Farm Milk” (pre-pasturized) and Homogenized (pasturiezed whole milk)

    But after leaving home (a farming community) to head off to College / Unit I started to drink a lot of 2% milk.  In recent years I have switched to 1% milk (less calories)… although Mr TTR he still prefers 2%

    Most of the milk we buy is therefore 1%, but we certainly drink 2% as well if we cannot fiind 1%

    PS… HATE Skim Milk it is just too “thin ” for me.  Honestly, I’ve never tried another non-dairy milk (outside of the non-dairy creamers you come across at Restaurants etc) … having been raised in “milk country” have a suspicion that non-dairy just isn’t gonna make it for me.

    Almond here, usually, and some coconut for making curries and the like.  FI is wicked dairy intolerant, and milk doesn’t agree with me, either, so it’s non-dairy here.  We really like almond milk the best.

    @JulietFoxtrot:  Yeah there used to be a dark green top – I wonder if that’s still around. Might try and find one when we go grocery shopping next time. I found a page that explained the milk bottle top colours in terms of skim, 1%, etc and you’re correct about it being the 1%. Hmm after looking at that, I may just switch to the yellow top lol.

    Almond milk. The idea of drinking cow milk just scares and disgusts me for so many reasons. My DH drinks almond too, but he isnt opposed to cow milk.

    @Cynderbug:  I do that too except I freeze chunks of bananas and mix some pb in in my food processor.  It has the consistency of soft serve. I love it.

    Almond milk or soy milk, to answer your question OP. Dairy milk is so cruel so I’d rather get a kinder option.

    2% for me, almond milk for my husband. i only have milk in my cereal. i don’t like it by itself unless it’s chocolate milk.

    2% My mom used to buy skim, but it really isn’t that good for you. Kind of like diet soda.

    I Only drink  whole milk from grass fed cows. 🙂 I read a book a couple years ago that changed how I see food and I switched over to only full fat, real foods (fat free, etc. = sugar and chemicals) I dropped about 15 lbs with my change in diet and it’s stayed off.
