Our wedding is outdoors at the end of August. I am of course hoping for sunshine, but also not wanting to get burnt! Does anyone have any sunscreen recommendations? I am trying to find a non-greasy and non-smelly kind.

I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 15 (or the Target brand) every day on my face. I don’t find it to be greasy or smelly (it’s specifically designed for the face but I’m sure you could use it elsewhere). Unfortunately most sunscreen has to be reapplied about every 2 hours to remain effective (even if it says “all day protection” or “waterproof” or something). Obviously that’s hard to do on your face if you are wearing makeup).
The higher the SPF, the more sun rays it will block (SPF 15 will block 93% of UVB rays and SPF 30 will block 97%).

I LOVE the nutrogena sunscreen that is a spray. it is not greasy at all and goes on evenly because it is an aerosol.

Aveeno makes oil-free face sunblock up to SPF50 (I’m Irish haha). It’s more expensive than regular sunblock, so I normally only use it on my face and use some kind of spray everywhere else.

Thanks! :)! Only our ceremony is outside, so we wouldn’t be out there for too long, but I’d hate to get a sunburn at the ceremony and be all red at the reception :-P.

I use either the Neutrogena UltraSheer sunblock on my face–usually in SPF 50 or 75; I’m Irish too! I love the Neutrogena spray for everywhere else, or Banana Boat Sport if I’m going somewhere where I need to slather it on all day, every day since the good stuff does get expensive (like a vacation in the VI). I feel like the Aveeno face sunblock is about the same product as the Neutrogena. I use a Garnier Nutritioniste facial moisturizer every day and that has SPF 28 in it (why 28? why not 30? Weird!), so I’m pretty serious about my sunblock! I go straight from ghostly white to lobster red, back to ghostly white–do not pass tan, go directly to white–so there’s no reason for me to risk skimping on sunblock.

Clinique!!! It’s a little more expensive but worth it. They carry a sunblock for your face as well as your body. I’m prone to sun-poisoning and it works awesome for me. Worth every penny! And sometimes they have samples at the counter! I don’t use any other clinique product but for anyone that is prone to burning Clinique is the way to go!
I don’t wear the face-sunblock every day (BobbiBrown with SPF) so I can’t remember how it works with makeup.

You need to be careful with the sunscreen. The minerals in the sunscreen would possibly make you look really pale in pictures. Personally, I use Neutrogena Daily Moisturizer SPF 45.

Has anyone tried something like this?
I use their mineral make up. Never tried powder sunscreen! Figure they could put this on my face when doing the make up. In terms of suncreen for the body I considered the Clinque spray! It would only need to be on my arms, shoulder, upper back area! I have quite a few tattoos that I cover daily with the neutrogena ultra sheer sunblock and notice it leaves a weird film on my skin (I am italian so I am naturally brown). I used to never ever burn then all of a sudden it became an issue. strange.
