So, like almost every other bee out there, Fiance and I are on a very tight budget as we are saving for “the wedding.” Which means shopping the savings and using coupons whenever possible. (Its kinda nice – we now have a new Sunday morning tradition of breakfast and coupon clipping.) Well, this week, we did awesome and I just had to share with the hive – our grocery bill (for the next 2.5 weeks) was $126, but we only paid $72 – yep, that is right – between in-store savings and double coupons (go Kroger!) we saved $54! That is a new personal high for the Rock Huggers! Yippee!
Did you have any great money-saving adventures this past week?

That’s amazing! We don’t get so many coupons, etc in Canada, so I’m totally jealous!

I don’t know if I’ve done that well on my overall bill lately (Canadian coupons kinda suck) but I was bragging at work about my laundry soap.
Usually, 7.99 for the triple concentrated sensitive skin Sunlight we buy.
I got a $2.50 off no-limit coupon, thinking $5.49 would be a decent price to stock up on.
Went to the store and they were having a manager’s special for $2.99 each!
You better believe I took as many as I could carry.

I was thinking about starting this post myself! I mostly shop at Harris Teeter, a grocery chain in the South, bc they double coupons up to 99cents every day…and this past week was Super Doubles, where they double coupons up to $1.99. I save at least 50% off every grocery trip nowadays.
So, I clip coupons and then use a coupon website so I don’t have to look for sales and deals myself. I use Southern Savers.
Just earlier today, I was alerted to a bath and body works sale…buy 6 of their signature products line, get 3 of those for free. then use code Holiday30, and get 10$ off. Shipping was only 5.99. So I got 6 products for about 30$, including shipping. Great holiday gifts!

There are a few things I refuse to pay full price for, one of the being toilet paper. Why would I pay $16 for a pack of 30 rolls when if I wait and stock up, I can buy them for $6-8 a pack. I get a weird sense of accomplishment coming out of the grocery store with 150 rolls of toilet paper 😉

I love Target! You can print coupons specifically for Target off their website and usually when they have a coupon for something it is also on sale. We started doing more grocery shopping there now that they upgraded our Target to include meat and fresh produce. I thought it was really good when we saved $25 on a $75 bill, but $54 is awesome! We still have to shop at Tom Thumb (a safeway store) for certain things, or when the produce doesn’t look so good at Target though. 😛
