Awwww! That’s great!!!! Yippee!!!

For me, second interviews are similiar to first ones. The person you have not met usually asks the questions, so they might be different because there are different interview styles.

In my second interview I met with 3 other people I would work with daily. Only one was my boss. My boss wanted to make sure we would all mesh. It sounds like he thinks you are great and wants her input.

This gives me hope. I’m searching for a job. Good luck, girl!

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  I used to say that about finding a guy. LOL! You only need one. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m sure the President will be nice. The higher you go up, the nicer they tend to be. I used to work with execs. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  It can’t hurt to bring all of your backup that you mentioned, just in case.  In my experience, the 2nd interview (with our CEO) was just a chit chat session, where he got a feel for whether or not I’d fit in well.  Smile  It’s a privately held company, so things were more casual.

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  This is a really good sign that they just want to get to know you a little better – and that they have already decided they like you. I would prepare questions for them – anything you would want to know about the job and the company. And be prepared to answer the “when can you start?” question!

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  oooh exciting! My second interviews have always been with questions really specific to the role (the second interview for this job was about specific project management questions pertaining to the programs I now manage, how I would deal with certain staff that report to me, how I might structure a specific workshop, etc). It was also where another member of my team sat in to observe.

This is a GREAT sign but all second interviews I have been on have also had another candidate for a second interview as well so please make sure you prepare! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  Second interview is a good sign!  Good luck!  I hope you get it!

In regards to his comment “no need to prepare anything special,” that sets a more casual precedence.  I would still bring my resume and any other paper work you brought to the first one.  It’s always better to be over prepared than under prepared.  In terms of what he might have meant by “special:” for the job I’m currently in, they asked me to do an Excel quiz before my first interview, and a personality quiz for my second.

More than likely you will sit down and talk with the higher ups for them to get a feel for you.  You are already done with the hard part (getting them to like you).  Now you just need to keep their interest.

@Mrs. Gremmlin:  ahh awesome! If you’re worried about them going with a cheaper option, think about structuring your responses around the added value you bring to the company beyond just the successful delivery of your mandate (and if you can tie that to something monetary.. all the better!). You’ll be awesome – I hope you get it!!
