Found out I’m 6 weks pregnant about a week ago. Funny thing is that for the past 3 or 4 weeks I’ve been really itchy…. like, unbearably itchy. I thought it was just winter dry skin so I started moisturizing twice a day. I kept it up, but when it didn’t help I figured it was just an allergy I had to something (even though nothing had changed). When I found out i was pregnant I wondered if maybe that was just my worst symptom. Did anyone else experience this?

My stomach was really really itchy for awhile,. For me the itchiness lessened after a few weeks but moisturizing helps a lot too for me.

Yes, and my skin itself went through a lot of changes. I had terrible breakouts in my first trimester when I typically had clear skin. The stomach area will particularly itch as your skin stretches. I’d just lie on the couch scratching my belly for hours in the last trimester. Maybe not hours; I also slept a lot. LOL. Just use lotion with lots of cocoa butter for moisturizing.

I would talk to your doctor. something similar happened to my cousin (could be totally different than what’s happening with you), but her liver started failing, not filtering things properly which in turn could have ended up harming her baby.
Like I said, I’m not doctor, but if you’re unbearably itchy, go talk to a doctor, it could be more serious than putting extra lotion on.
Edit: and the liver failer was because of her pregnancy, not an unrealated condition. (the itchiness was especially on her hands and feet).

I didn’t get really itchy until about 20 weeks, but then for about 10 weeks my boobs and belly were SOOOOOOOO itchy. I moisturized a ton but it didn’t completely stop the itching. It’s been better lately but I’m not sure why. Hope it gets better!
