In these photos I am wearing the palest color that Smashbox makes (Studio Skin 15 hour, 1.1). It’s still about half a shade too dark for my skin, but it stayed put all day long and didn’t aggravate my sensitive skin at all. I also use NARS primer.

For reference, my face was covered with tiny red bumps after using airbrush foundation, Illamasqua made my skin burn, MUFE didn’t last, Dior was okay, and YSL didn’t have a pale enough color for me.

You may want to try NARS foundation. I am pretty sure it does not have an SPF in it. I love their primer, and the foundation was next on my list if the Smashbox had not worked for me. But it did, so I stopped looking.

I use Bare Minerals foundation, and it does not have SPF in it.  I don’t remember the name/number of the shade I use, off hand, but it’s the lightest shade they make, lol!

@Cappugcino: Have you tried mineral foundation? If you search on Etsy you can find custom foundations that have almost no chemicals in them. I like PinkQuartzMinerals.

For something with heavier coverage, I’ve heard good things about RMS UnConcealer, but haven’t tried it yet myself.

Your skin sounds exactly like mine. Im very pale and allergic to many foundations. I have found the Jane Iredale Ivory powder foundation works best for me. Good luck!

I am in the same boat as you…. I am allergic to everything! NARS is great but i react to it… bare minerals is great but a react to it…. makeup forever is great but i react to it….

The only foundation i have ever found to not irritate my skin is Cover FX. It was designed by dermatologists who were helping burn victims and people with vitiligo cover up their skin issues. You should seriously check out their website. The before and afters are amazing!

Their colour range is very extensive and the coverage is amazing. The best part about it is that the makeup is waterproof and it can even cover tattoos. So, if you have anything major to cover on the day of you are all set. The only adivce i have is to get the primer and the setting powder that they reccomend with it. The cream foundation is very thick and can be difficult to work with without the specific primer they make… (not your typical silcone primer)….

Cover FX is great, and for minerals try Alima Pure–it’s talc free and I use it on my clients with rosacea and they have the palest pale color I have ever found in the range of products that are good for those with very sensitive skin. You can order online, and they even send out samples for a few bucks so you can try before you buy.

Smashbox is too yellow for my skintone and their lightest shades of foundation are too dark for me- shame because I love their concealer and powder. I use Paula Dorf now but my skin isn’t all that sensitive so I’m not sure if it would cause problems for you.

I would recommend Mac.  You can get it in warm or cool which I think is great for fair skin.  I have cool skin and it makes such a difference!

I suggest Make Up Forever HD foundation. Comes in a lot of shades! I am pale and very pinkish and I find it hard to find foundation that works and I found my perfect shade! (#115 for reference) I also have very sensitive skin that reacts to the wind changing direction, I swear lol and I have no issues with this foundation.

I’m in the same boat as you — super pale, burn really easily, can’t fake tan (I turn orange!).  I use clinique’s powder foundation, and I LOVE it.  It never looks fake and blends really well.

Bare Minerals  – Fair.  I’m so fair you can actually see thru me sometimes, and my skin is super sensitive.

Try stargazer, they have a few really pale shades, including a white loose powder.
