Do not allow the extras, if you do you’re saying their behaviour is ok, it’s not. Tell them that you’re not going over budget for their extras, that the venue has not got enough space, or if they keep pressing, say you want an adults only wedding, and any extras added you just plain don’t want there.

@SunshineLovin:  She gave the ok without asking you? That’s ridiculous. And your uncle refuses to go? His loss!

Just continue to say no and choose not to let people’s comments hurt or stress you.

Be firm and tell them to get over it.

@SunshineLovin:  I don’t have advice, just support. It’s in such poor taste to add uninvited guests to an invite! I’m pretty much living in fear- our budget is super tight and already people are talking about who they’ll bring. It isn’t a freaking prom, it’s a wedding!

How rude!  Be super nice about it, but don’t give in.  Let them know that you wish you could allow them to bring a guest but you’re at the limit with the number of guests invited as it is.  Maybe find a way to work in that if you had allowed guests you would have ended up having to cut some family members and that just wasn’t an option.  People should know that whoever’s names are on the invitation are who are invited, no one more.  I’m so glad we didn’t have this problem, good luck!
