So I live in Chicago but work in a suburb on weekends, where my horse is also kept. R and I have a 2002 Prius that’s a hand-me-down with 165,000 miles on it. It’s pretty much in great shape, but it’s starting to feel the wear and tear of the 40 mile commute on the interstate.
Well, the rear wheel bearing just started making noise. We’re taking it in on Friday, because last time we took it to the dealership at the end of December, they said they couldn’t hear any noise. Since then it has gotten louder and louder, to the point where we know it’s actually bad and not just us!
Of course, today I get a call that my horse has cut her head in her stall. So we go out there, take a look at it, fix it up, and decide to hold off on stitches. BUT she needs medication and it needs to be cleaned regularly. Plus I have to make sure it doesn’t need vet attention tomorrow.
But on the way home the car was being really loud. Now I’m stressing because we have to drive out there tomorrow. I think we’ll end up swapping it out to borrow R’s mom’s car so that we don’t have to drive it at high speeds anymore, but it’s still going to be a white knuckle ride! Don’t you hate how stressful life is?
