i’m sorry for your loss.

DH’s father passed away when he was 19 and my dad passed away when i was 29. when I was 20w pregnant with our first, DH’s mom passed away.  my mom and his grandfather are the only living parents/grandparents.  our son is named after my father and his mother.

we are now expecting #2. the baby will be named after DH’s dad and the middle name will be someone on my side by i’m not sure yet.

i’m sad when i think about my father never getting to meet my husband or his grandchildren.  but my son does have a resemblence to my father, and when i catch a glimpse of him in my son, i know he would be very proud of me and all that i have accomplished in life and career.

Keroppi :  I’m sorry for your loss.

I got married 3 months ago. My Dad passed away very suddenly 5 months ago. Darling Husband and I had talked early on about getting pregnant soon after the wedding. I literally can’t handle any more life change right now, so I went on birth control.

I want children, but the though of having them without my Dad here breaks my heart. I honestly don’t have any words of advice for you other than to focus on how exciting of a time this is for you and your husband. That’s what I had to do to get through my wedding.

ETA: we have talked about baby names. If we have a son, we will name him after my Dad. Which makes me feel a lot better. That he’ll still be around in some way.

I lost both of my in-laws this summer; my Mother-In-Law when I was 3 weeks pregnant and my Father-In-Law when I was 8 weeks (I am currently 18 weeks). It’s been a horrible summer but we see our future baby as the light at the end of the sadness tunnel. I intend of giving him/her the name of either my Mother-In-Law of Father-In-Law as a middle name. Also, I had one of their pictures printed in black and white yesterday and will add it to the baby’s gallery wall in the nursery.
