Hello lovely bees!
I am so thrilled to be officially joining the hive! I’ve been a lurker for a few months, but have not been expecting to be engaged any time soon. I am attending medical school in Israel and my boyfriend (now FI!) would only be moving to the Holy Land this fall, so I never imagined he’d propose before then.
We have been together for almost 5 years, but a large portion of our relationship has been long distance. Luckily, his job involves frequent visits to Israel, so on his latest trip he whisked me away to Eilat, a beautiful seaside resort town in the very south of the country. We stayed at a fancy hotel, but I still suspected nothing! After a fun day of lounging by the pool and strolling the beach promenade we had a wonderful seafood dinner. He then suggested a romantic moonlit walk on the beach. It was almost midnight and there was no one around. He started telling me some really sweet things and before I knew it he was in the sand on one knee asking me to marry him!
I squeezed out a YESYESYES intbetween ecstatic squeals and overjoyed sobs and he put this stunning ~2 carat radiant-cut amethyst in a double diamond halo on my finger! It is absolutely gorgeous and better than I ever dreamed of. It has a split shank setting with pave diamonds and beautiful filigree on the sides of the dome. He secretly asked by best friend for my size and he also knew I wanted an amethyst (purple is my favorite color) and he even asked my parents and brother for my hand.
The Eilat beach reminded me of Los Angeles, California, where we are both from and the whole night was absolutely magical!
I have so enjoyed reading so many of your stories and have spent so many hours drooling over many bees’ pictures – now I am excited to share my story!
