- Wedding: June 2009
On Friday, October 17, 2008, Eric C., a student at Westminster Seminary California, flew out from his hometown (a San Diego suburb) to surprise and propose to Katie B., his college sweetheart, who lives in the Chicago suburbs and works in Human Resources.
Eric planed the surprise proposal with Katie’s parents, grandparents and an aunt and uncle (whose alibi was that they were taking Katie out to dinner to downtown Chicago as a thank you for house-sitting for them the week before.)As they were walking down the pier, Katie heard her name being called and turned around to find Eric braving the Chicago wind, and holding a little blue velvet box in his hand. Katie dropped her purse (yes, on Navy Pier on a Friday night) and ran into his arms. It had been over six weeks since they were last together, and she was not expecting this one bit.
After presenting Katie with a gorgeous round-cut diamond ring (the stone set by Katie’s jeweler grandfather), he took her on a romantic dinner cruise on the Odyssey.
The couple is planning to wed on June 19, 2009 at Covenant Orthodox Prebysterian Church and is planning a rustic, fairy woodland themed reception at a country club in the south suburbs of Chicago. Following the wedding they are traveling to Milan, Florence, and Venice, Italy for a 10 day honeymoon. [attachment=101203,790] [attachment=101203,791]
