- Wedding: March 2016 - Sand Key Park- Clearwater Beach Elopement
So orginally, we were going to get married on October 22nd. Our plans changed a little when I found out that I’m pregnant! I would’ve been 8.5 months pregnant on our wedding day, so we decided to elope rather than have a bigger, more elaborate wedding (that we actually didn’t really want and were starting to dread paying for and planning).
We were married on March 19th! We don’t have our pro photos yet of course, but we should have them fairly shortly, and I will update this post then!
I am so happy I went with this dress. With my first, I had started feeling some dress regret after buying it. I knew in my heart it just wasn’t 100% right. So then I found this dress, a sample in great condition, and I payed half of retail. I love a good deal, and I wasn’t willing to spend thousands we just didn’t have on a dress I’d be wearing for a few hours when that money could be used elsewhere now that we have a baby on the way. I will never forget my husband’s face when he first saw me walk out in my dress for our first look. I’ve never felt more beautiful.
The ceremony was perfect and was exactly what we wanted. We had just wanted to elope to begin with, but then we decided on having a wedding with around 50 guests because I figured my mom would be upset if we eloped. We told her we were thinking about it, and she wasn’t mad. I was so relieved. This is the wedding I truly wanted. As small as possible, very intimate, right out on the beach. It was everything I had dreamed of.
We didn’t have a reception, instead afterward we went to a restaurant, with me still in my dress. It was our day, and I wanted to still feel beautiful in my dress. I received so many compliments it was crazy.
We’re planning to have a small reception or something in May. I like that idea a lot. Maybe we’ll still have our first dance 🙂
Our wedding day was the best day of my life so far. It was truly perfect. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams.
