Not sure – what’s surprising about them? I haven’t seen them.
Here is a picture.
Yeah….they’re a little…boring? I guess I think that of most traditional invites though. Ivory cardstock and a little embossing don’t really do it for me.
That’s a photo of them. Plain ivory cards with the Queen’s crest being mailed in manila envelopes. I guess I expected something more elegant?
They are a little more simple than I would have pictured them but that’s definatly not a bad thing! I think they are very elegant 🙂
I love how the queen “commands” her son to invite people, lol.
Very, very traditional. Not my taste, but it IS a royal wedding so I guess I’m not super surprised. Bored, yes, but not surprised. lol
It gets the point across. They are probably not into the fireworks and ribbons that some invites come with. It doesn’t look like they included RSVP cards. It looks like just a simple note to send a reply to said address. If it’s okay for the royals then it’s okay for me. ^_^
State function invitations are pretty non glamorous, very basic. The same is true with the inaugural invite, very basic.
I think what surprises me is the envelopes. I expect the Royals to have tradtional protocals but I would expect them to update once in a while. The invitation is the same exactly as Diana’s.
I really like that they aren’t going overboard and spending a ridiculous amount on the invites. I’m sure the British tax payer is happy too, since they are inviting 1900 people.
I’m a little surprised, just because I know Kate is pretty fashion forward and has some nice statement pieces that aren’t totally “traditional”. I just figured that style would show up in their invites.
