Ladybug16:  I’d still have Bloody Marys. They are a big thing w/my DH and his group of friends – they’re constantly drinking them. Just because you and your DH happen to not like them doesnt mean that others dont! I think they’re a pretty big “staple” in the brunch drink world!

weatherbug: . Bloody Marys are awesome and the gold standard brunch cocktail. I don’t know how someone could say they aren’t tasty, you can tweak them a million different ways to adjust the flavor. One place I like to go puts a whole BBQ rib in them as a garnish, nobody can say that that drink isn’t manly. The potency can be adjusted as well.

I would definitely still go with Bloody Marys, as PPs have said. Beer and wine at brunch?! That is just odd, IMO.

My favorite is Bellinis ๐Ÿ™‚

But I also think of Mimosas and Bloody Marys (which you can make manly with pepperjack cheese and slim jim garnishments! its what DH uses) …

Ladybug16:  I agree with all the PP’s – you can plan your wedding around a lot of things, but you don’t have to plan it around your BIL’s taste … lots of men will drink a bloody mary.  You probably can’t go wrong with screwdrivers, as well – I mean, almost everyone drinks orange juice ;-).

What about serving some irish coffee?

I love mimosas!

I agree with PPs – bloody mary’s (those are like caesars right?) are a big staple for brunch. Savoury rather than sweet, which offers more variety.

Its not brunch without a caesar. At least not here! I wouldn’t nix the bloody mary, its the cloest thing to a caesar and can be really delicious.

You could always do a bloody caesar or another variation on a bloody mary: http://drinks.seriouseats.com/2012/10/brunch-drinks-bloody-mary-variations-north-end-grill-nyc-bloody-bull-caesar-easy-cocktails.html

Just because you don’t like bloody mary’s doesn’t mean your guests wouldn’t enjoy them.

Ladybug16:  I know a lot of men and I’ve never heard that “men don’t like drinks with juice in them.” Such a weird generalization coming form a man. My Fiance loves him some mimosas! I agree with PP, keep thte bollody marys. I don’t like them but  Iknow tons of people sho do. Another delicious champagne “mimosa” is champagne with St. Germain. It’s not as sweet and is DELICIOUS. I also 2nd Sangria and would also add maybe the option of a Shandy (beer + lemonade, juice or clear soda) if you want to add a beer “cocktail. Your wedding sounds lovely!
