I have never tried sushi, so my immediate reaction is to think “Eww, raw fish!” I like anything meat to be cooked until it’s almost burnt! I really have no desire at this very moment to try sushi, but someday I might! I have heard great things about it.

Trust me, a LOT of sushi ingredients are either veggies or are fully cooked. (Sushi technically refers to the rice used, not the fish.). If you want to be sort of adventurous, get the ubiquitous Califorinia roll. Its fillings are crab (usually imitation), cucumber, and avocado.

I like unagi rolls and salmon sashimi the most. YUM!

I’m a sushi girl, I don’t discriminate against any kind of sushi. I could have it 7 days and still not have enough.

Favorite? Uhm, anything and everything.

@jesssamesssa: I just discovered I like, no love, sushi last summer! My favorite ‘roll’ is more California-esque than traditional sushi. Spicy salmon over crispy rice. I also love the simple rolls, the hamachi, salmon, or tuna over rice. If the fish is great quality it melts in your mouth like butter. Now I am STARVING!
If you’re ever in the Seattle area go to Nishino in Madison Park!

@jesssamesssa: I love Sushi! But I try to only eat the raw stuff when I’m visiting family in Califonia. Eating raw fish in a land locked state is not my kind of thing… Plus you end up getting swindled with imitation fish (tilapia can be made to look like anything, it seems)

@nerdybird: I see you’re a Seattle-ite as well! Any favorite sushi spots I should try out?

@vorpalette: not sure where you’re getting your philly roll but it is supposed to be smoked salmon not crab.

You know how when you’re hungry you are still full on some things? Like I had Fuddruckers about 4 years ago and though their burger was AMAZING, I am still full from there. It’s like a food threshhold.
I am NEVER full of sushi. My sushi threshhold is disturbingly high. I’m like an otter. I have this sitting on my desktop right now (my dad just sent it to me), my parents visited and we went to a BOGO place and OMG SO GOOD.

@Atalanta: All of the Chinese restaurants that make them here have crab in them.

I don’t like the texture of raw fish much, so I usually eat vegetarian sushi, or some with shrimp. My favourites are the ones with sweet potato… Yum!

So funny coming across this thread – I just polished off a bunch of sushi for lunch. I inhaled it so fast I couldn’t have even taken a picture for the Hive! Had avo & tuna and spicy dynamite rolls for lunch today. yum, yum!

i love tuna sushi and sashimi. sometimes salmon. nothing else fish based as they all taste “fishy” to me (go figure :P)
edit – there should be a “yes – some kinds” option/ i don’t eat ALL kinds but i do eat some

Love sushi. My SO and I try to get some in Japantown every time we’re in the city together. One of the first times we got food before we starting actually dating was in Japantown.
I used to have a good friend who owned a sushi restaurant and he would make me so many yummy creations suited to my tastes. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago.
There are a few grocery stores around that have really good rolls, they’re usually around the same price as going out to a restaurant but so handy when I’m on the go.
