I debated posting this. But, I wanted to share it because it makes me so happy thinking about it. Last Sunday, I got in a fight with my boyfriend for the millionth time over the idea of getting engaged, timelines and preplanning when we are not financially able to at the moment.
What he said when we calmed down to try and rationalize it for me was “I wish I had the money to buy you a ring right now, but, I don’t. In fact, I’d be so excited to get engaged to you that I proabably couldn’t wait and would propose to you the day I picked up the ring.” I want to propose to you within the year if I can afford to save for a ring.” He also has held me in his arms and said “Sweetheart, don’t you understand? I already know how I’m going to propose to you.”
I know things change and he also said that I cannot in so many words micromanage a specific timeline as life doesn’t work that way based on financial availability, but, it made me happy to hear that he thought or wished that we could within the year. I needed to share with my fellow bees 🙂
Anyone else have sweet things that your boyfriends have said that get you through?
