A sweet table, like a candy buffet? 

I wouldn’t put photos on that, it’ll get too crowded.  I would do a separate table for the photos, which is something common that a lot of brides do.  Should be lots of photo inspiration out there!

If you have room for it, I think it’d be really cute! You could use little placecards or mini-chalkboards or small photo frames to name them, which would help explain the significance of the photos.

(I do agree with Eagle, though — if it gets crowded the photos might end up getting knocked over when people grab for candy, so if you don’t have the space I’d keep it seperate.)

If your sweets table backs up to a wall, you can place the pictures at the back of the table and no one will have to reach over them.
