Replace it with fruit.  The nautral sugar in it should get rid of your sweet tooth some.  I know its not the same, but at least it is tasty!

The nutritionist and dietician that I went to see told me that it takes EIGHT weeks to change your taste buds-that is if there is no cheating. I have almost completely eliminated white processed flour and white sugar from my diet-whole grains now have a nutty taste that I find myself craving, as well as grapes, apples & tangerines. It was HARD though-really hard. My next step is diet soda-we’ll see about that bc I’m a Fresca addict-that is what gets me through the evening sweet craving-it’s so sparkly and fresh that I really enjoy it.

Your icon reminded me how much I love frozen bananas dipped in chocolate… a little dark chocolate dip can’t hurt you? 😉 I also love sugar free jello and sugar free choc. pudding!

I’m having the same problem. I love anything sweet. I don’t buy the stuff. I have been trying to eat a lot of fruit. But my biggest weakness is ice cream.

I have eliminated ALL sweet snacks from my desk at work, but still keep ice cream in the house. I allow myself one scoop for dessert, in a cone (not that many more calories and way more satisfying) only if I keep to my diet during the day.

Currently I’m craving chocolate!!!! If I could just eat only chocolate … I would. I have given up sweets too. Lets see how it goes. I ate blueberries in it’s place of my typical frozen dark chocolate bar … it kind of worked … kind OF!

I use those 100 calorie chocolate bars – I CANT deprive myself of chocolate and when I really am craving and have the calorie allowance (I count EVERY calorie that I put in my mouth) I do it and I don’t feel guiltyWink

I feel you. It is hard. I work at Starbucks so I am around that stuff all day!

If you don’t want to cut it out completly, have you tried maybe just a small portion after dinner? If you have pie, put a small piece on a small plate. It makes it look bigger and you won’t want more. Plus if you are more active, you should be okay.

It’s easier to give in just a little, than hold out to later break and go on a huge splurge!
