Your post gives me goosebumps!  How lucky you are!  I have had 2 MILs and I struck gold both times.  They were such a wonderful influence in my life and I do try as hard as I can to emulate them know that I, too, am a Mother-In-Law.  I hope you will be warm, wonderful friends as the years go by.

My second Mother-In-Law heard me talking about an old BBC comedy I used to watch on public television called “Rumpole, of the Bailey”.  Rumpole was an English Barristar (older gentleman) and was married to Hilda, who was an overbearing older lady.  He referred to her as “She who must be obeyed.”  My awesome Mother-In-Law found that phrase on a coffee mug and bought it for me.  She totally rocked.

@peonyinlove:  That is so funny!  I only watched it because I was dating a guy back in the late 80’s who was into British comedy!  I had never heard of the show because I didn’t watch much public TV and really, nothing British.  Don’t even get me started with Hyacinth on Keeping up Appearances!  Love her!!
