    We did a sweetheart table and it worked out great. Our guest count was only 65, so it would be awkward to seat our bridal party and parents at one table since that would be like 1/6 of the whole wedding. We assgined the nearest tables to us to our bridal party/immediate family.

    @Sunshineliz22:  If you do a “head” table you must include the dates of your wedding party. So you have two options:

    * Intimate sweetheart table

    * Massive “head” table with wedding party + dates

    Personally I’m going with sweetheart table, I want some alone time with him before we start making the rounds. You’ll hardly be seated so why make your wedding party uncomfortable sitting on display when you’ll only be with them for a short time?

    We are doing a sweetheart table. We also have 6 BMs and 6GMs, but with over half of them either married or in a long-term relationship I didn’t want to make them sit away from their SO’s for part of the night. I was recently in a wedding where we sat at the head table and my Fiance was placed at a completely random table (not even seated with my family!) and he was miserably bored for the first hour and a half. He’s very outgoing and can make friends in almost any situation, but the table he was at was definitely a random table for out of place guests and it really hurt me that my friend just stuck him there. I learned my lesson, and will be letting our bridal party sit with their dates since once the ceremony is over, they should be able to have fun and enjoy the night like every other guest. I had trouble enjoying myself at the head table while watching my poor Fiance from across the room just sitting there alone.
