I’m having a backyard ceremony and recption, and the spot where I want to stick the sweetheart table is kind of seperated from the general seating. Is that okay? I figured it may avoid family drama, haha, but mainly it’s my favorite spot in the yard because it’s over the koi pond and next to a waterfall. It’s also where we will be saying our vows.
Included is my lovely paint rendering of the layout. It is extremely not to scale.

I think you can sit wherever you want because you won’t really be sitting…right?

I like it…then everyone can see you.

That works – in all the weddings I’ve been a coordinator for we’ve placed it at the head of the dance floor or on an elevated stage that’s built into the room. Traditionally, head tables used to be on risers, so it’s sort of that same style… everyone can see you.
You also won’t be there nearly as much as everyone else, so do it – it will give you a few minutes of peace with each other 🙂
