Have any of you added straps to your strapless gowns? I have Wtoo Camilla in ivory. I had an extra yard of fabric ordered in order to make straps. I’ve always loved the look of a really wide set strap, after the peak of the sweetheart. When I suggested the strap when I was first trying on my gown, the salesperson pined them coming from the peak. To me they looked natural for the neckline but very narrow.
I guess I’m tying to get an idea of what would look best. Any pics would be great.
My dress for reference:

I added straps! I used a length of fabric that came with my dress and made them detachable so I went sleeveless for the reception.

My straps were originally set at the peak, but I asked to have them as wide set as they could go. They visually even out my pear hips by broadening the look of the shoulders. What sort of shape are you? If you have wide shoulders already I wouldn’t recommend doing it as they can make you appear broader up top. But just going off your dress, wide set straps would look really pretty!

@Cyri: Hi I love the shimmer that your dress gives off! what type of fabric is it? Is it stretchy?

@bellasmum: Thank you! The shimmer is what hooked me 🙂
The material is not stretchy at all. The bottom layer is plain silk. The top layer is entirely sequins sewn into what I think is georgette.

Hi there! I know this thread is really old, but I’m looking for a WTOO Camilla dress in Ivory to buy or rent from someone. I LOVE it, but it’s not available in the right size anywhere. Would you be open to selling or renting yours if you still have it?
