Go to an urgent care clinic! That’s cheaper than ER. Sounds like something that should definitely be checked out asap!

That is not something to take a chance on.  Go to urgent care.

I’d start out at urgent care. If they’re worried it’s much worse, they’ll send you to the ER.

You need to bite the bullet and go to a doctor.  None of those symptoms you listed are normal, and they are clearly getting worse.

That’s your lymph node. Go to the MD!

If it happened after shaving, you might have a staph infection from a cut. Have you tried applying a warm compress? There might be a boil.

That happened to me once and i was super worried. It was an infected lymph node, a few days of antibiotics cleared it right up!

You could try calling a few places to see if they have reduced rates for the uninsured. I am a month overdue for a follow up mammogram due to a “probably nothing” finding on the last one. They called me and when I said I wasn’t insured anymore so that’s why I am waiting, I was told I could get a 40% discount.

edit: The ER is going to be way more expensive regardless.

Put a hot compress on it several times a day. It is probably an infection that needs to come to a head. If you keep putting a hot compress on it, it might open up and drain on its own. You can get ingrown hairs there and they can become infected. It’s possible that it will need to be drained by a professional and you might need antibiotics. Whatever you do, don’t try to squeeze it or lance it yourself.

Hot compresses and castor oil on the lump every few hours… Husband gets them often… Still go to doc.

I would cash pay a regular doctor or urgent care appointment before I went to the ER. That’s going to cost a ton.

Minute clinic and other similar clinics charge $100-150 to be seen. You should definitely go get this checked. I had a small infection years ago that grew and I ended up septic and in organ failure. I nearly died and spent 6 weeks in the hospital… dont wait!

Infected lymph node most likely. Go to urgent care!
