I usually wear strapless tops for the same reason. Check out Victoria’s Secret online. They have some mix and match options where you can pic a strapless top with any style bottom you want, and they have great prices especially during sales. Their tops usually have some kind of padding or support.

It is a necessary evil!  I accidentally got a bit of a farmers tan.  I spent the last part of the summer strategically applying suntan lotion and going to a tanning bed.  Don’t even start on the tanning bed thing…

I know people who’ve specifically rubbed self tanner just on the tan lines, and it helped.

I usually just wear regular bikinis and tie the neck strap around my torso while I’m sunbathing (looks ridiculous but not horrible).  Then when I throw my cover-up on or hop in the pool for a moment, I put the straps back where they belong.

I guess this is a perk to getting married in May – not too many tan line occasions before then.  I will be stocking up on tube tops though.

@cherrycoke:odds are, the spray tan color will not match your natural color, so you might still be 2 different colors.

I second meliss‘s Victoria’s Secret recommendation. However, I’m also a 34B, so I don’t have a whole lot up top to support. Like you, I hate strapless swimsuits, but I wore them all of last summer. Even with tanning booths (which I only resorted to with one particularly awkward bout of Bad Tan Lines), once I get tan lines, they never go away. And I’ve tried a wide variety of sunless tanners – they all just turn me orange.

@cherrycoke: Some of the bandeau tops come with removable straps so you can put those on when you’re swimming or running around. My only beef with VS tops is they run really small. I have to order a small bottom with medium top and there’s still not much coverage. Still, they’re pretty comfortable. I have this one in both brown and black, can’t find it on the website anymore but this is me in Jamaica enjoying a mimosa on our balcony:)
