I’m on the hunt for a swimsuit for an upcoming cruise & I’m getting very discouraged! I really want a tankini with a skirted bottom. I have one from last year that I ordered online, and while I like the look of it, the padding in the bust is very itchy!!! Any suggestions on where to look for a good plus-sized swimsuit? I’m between a 16 – 18. Also, why the heck are they SOOOO expensive???

I like the ones at Old Navy. Also, http://www.onestopplus.com has a lot of suits from a LOT of stores!

I always order my bathing suits from Newport News, they have a huge selection. I think you can google coupons for them too (for free shipping, etc), so do that if you find one that you like.

I adore Jcrew bathing suits. They are flattering, made very well and last a few seasons. Their XL size is a 16 according to their size chart. They have a ton of cute tankini styles and two skirt options.

Nothing more flattering than a miraclesuit. Nothing. They are very expensive, but quality made and last for multiple seasons. I believe you can get them on the Lane Bryant website now too (at least a few models) and use their coupons!

I got my last one from Land’s End. They have *really* good quality suits and some cute styles! Tons of mix/match options with different length skirts. I LOVE them for bathing suits!

I ordered two from http://www.swimsuitsforall.com and was very happy with the suits I received and thier customer service was amazing! I had a question for them and called – a real live human being answered the phone from the beginning!! Sorry that just shocks me since it rarely happens anymore. Anyhow, they have a large selection in sizes 8 – 16 and than plus sizes as well. The pictures show models in the suits for the sizes they are selling – nothing like trying to picture your 16 size self in a suit they are showing on a size 0 model. I ended up buying one piece skirted suits that are very flattering and didn’t look like it was for someone twice my age (wanted a strapless suit so that I didn’t have lines come my sept. wedding and was having a hard time finding something that would work that I liked – they had it). Take a peak, you might find one you like! Good luck.
