I have the snuggle bunny swing, she likes to take naps in it. We also have a bouncer that she likes to sit in to watch me do chores and other things. I have found both helpful, but from what I hear there are combinations that can be a swing AND it detaches to become a bouncer! Wish I had known that! lol. Total space saver which is nice because all that baby gear can make a house seem really small.

I voted both. My LO isn’t born yet, but it is my understanding that most babies will love one and hate the other and there is no way of knowing which one they’ll love/hate until they’re born! So, I am buying one of each used on Craigslist, so that I can sell the hated one later for exactly what I paid for it. When it comes to getting a newborn to sleep, I’ll do whatever I have to, haha.

My son loved his swing.  I only purchased that for our LO that is due in July.  He loved his jumper, too.  I registered for one so hopefully I get one of those, too.

Dd loved both! She had a swing at home & one at my moms and a bouncer at home & one at moms. She really used all of them!

My daughter really enjoyed them both (we had the swing at my house, bouncer at her grandparents’), so that’s what I voted for. But if you can only get one, I suggest you go for the swing. It’s a lifesaver if you’re dealing with a cranky baby. Jumpers are also great, they can be expensive and take up a lot of space but I think it’s worth it.

Oh also! A couple months ago, Target had the Snuggamonkey bouncer free with the purchase of the swing. Would be awesome if they did a deal like that again. 😉 And there are also 2-in-1 swing/bouncers too.

I have both and they have different purposes.  I put him in the swing for entertainment and the bouncers so I can keep an eye on him while I do stuff.  He likes them both but the bouncer is more portable than the swing so it’s easier to move around the house.  The bouncer is more relaxing for him as well.

I only used the bouncer for the first two months,…. at 7 months we are still loving the swing!

I went with both, since they are completely different functions. I anticipate using the bouncer way more, and if I had to pick just one I wouldn’t have got the swing. Some babies don’t even like them so they are more hit or miss. The bouncer has been a life saver for all the mommies I know because you can lay a sleeping baby it in while you do other things, or bounce the chair with your foot while you eat dinner or whatever if baby won’t settle/to keep them settled.

When I say bouncer I mean this type of thing.. http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=11129882′ defer=’defer  … not sure if that’s what everyone is talking about.

I say both.  All 3 of my kids had both and I am getting both for this baby.  I already got a Fisher price bouncer for this baby that vibrates, which is lovely (babies LOVE vibrations…well 1st son did.. only way to get him to sleep and stay asleep was to have his travle bassinet on vibration).  I am searching for swings now.  All my kids loved both and for me, they served different functions.

For my 1st ds, he loved playing in the swing and took naps there too.  he also played in his bouncer.  My dd, I used the bouncer alot.  She also liked the swing Same with 3rd kid; he liked both.

I think the swing is more for when you need a break to get stuff done, like cook or clean as it swings and plays music (usually).  The bouncer is more when you want them near but dont want to have to hold them or can’t hold them, like if you’re in the shower.

I say neither.  I would personally wait until your baby is born to test them out as some kids like neither. I nanny full time so that’s where this info comes from.  Also for these items, once a baby starts moving they will resist sitting in them.  That’s around 6 months.  So 6 months for a pricey bouncer/swing?  Better to save that money for college. 😉

Oh my god, the swing saved our lives and sanity for the first 3-4 months of LO’s life. We have the same swing. He’s nearing 4 months and is in it right now for his morning nap. I HIGHLY recommend it. Our son was colicy and it was the only place he would sleep some nights. He’s now in the crib at nights, but around 2 months, his swing was his BFF.

We have a bouncer with a toy bar. He likes that too. It’s nice to have a place to put him and get stuff done.

Like @Cady:  mentioned there are ones that are both and that’s what we have.  It’s amazing!  Depending on his mood he likes one better.  However, the cool thing is since the bouncer is the seat to the swing, you can make the swing vibrate while swinging which he LOVES!  Plus, and the reason we got it, it’s a space saver!  It’s basically 2 things in one.

    This is what we have…http://www.gracobaby.com/products/pages/productdetails.aspx?ProductID=1835229#sthash.YvVKRNUR.dpbs
