That’s a hard one. On one hand I’d jump ship and go to the other hotel, they sound a lot better.. on the other hand I think it would bug me just a bit to have it at the same place as my sister. And I’d be worried it’ll bother her (even if she said it wouldn’t) because your wedding will be before hers. Tough situation. But if it’s going to cause serious stress in your life/wedding planning you should switch venues, you don’t want to be miserable the whole time.

@Sunshine1011:  I would trust your gut. They were all happy & excited with you, til they got your deposit. Now that you’re “locked in,” they can treat you however they want. If your sister is truly ok with it, then I would switch. Why be miserable with your venue if you have the chance to be super happy somewhere else.

@Sunshine1011:  Yeah, 8 months out from the wedding is NOT a lot of time in the wedding world. We had an issue with our venue and had to switch with 7 months to go. We were very lucky to have found a great venue that was available on our date! If you decide to switch I’d do it soon!

@Sunshine1011:  I planned my entire wedding in 7 months. So I think it is totally fine to switch venues with 8 months to go.  There’s still plenty of time.  But don’t keep changing back and forth. 🙂

do it!!

i switched my venue a month ago (so 6 weeks before my wedding(!)) and it was honestly the best decision i made. i lost a small deposit, but my new venue is cheaper, nicer and friendlier so overall im saving money and less stressed

with me it was a little wedding miracle, they only date they had free for the next 4 months was mine!

have a serious talk with your sister, but 7 months is a reasonable time gap

they said you wouldnt lose out financially so i think its a great solution
