I just mentioned in another post how I have orgasm-synaesthesia and I wondered if anyone else had the same, or another form?
During sex my mind clouds with a colour. Sometimes I ‘see’ it with my mind’s eye, and other times I just know it’s that colour.
It’s usually directly related to intensity (one time it actually went from green, to yellow, to red!) and the one time we made love it was all white.
But this isn’t the only form i have! I also have time-space synaesthesia which allows me to visualise time. I can ‘see’ the year ahead of me. I looks like a long ruler, going from left to right. January is far left, December is far right and there is a defininte break from the end of one year to the beginning of a new one.
My mum has this also, and hers is more curved. There is a clean break, but December is closer to January – just not joined.
Anyone else have something similar to this? It’s so fascinating!

No….but I wish I did, even just once. That sounds like a pretty cool thing to experience.
What do you mean by visualize tme though? Im having a hard time putting that into context…but maybe there ISNT a context?!?!

I do!! My version of a yearly calendar is more box like than curved and if I really think about it, the shape looks weird, but that’s how I visualize the year.
I also have colour-graphemic synesthesia where each number has a specific colour in my mind. I only recently realized that most people don’t do this lol. For example 1= white , 2=red 3 = purple 4= green and so on. It’s funny because I seem to have a stronger dislike of odd numbers than most people and I think it’s because I actually hate most of the colours that I associate with odd numbers lol.

@lookingglass: hmmm ill have to google. I don’t know exactly what that is but I do strange things like this and it sounds kind of similar I guess. For example, every month has a color in my mind, like february is a grayish purple, january is white, march is red, may is lavender, june is pink, july is a bit blurry and changes for me, august is a dark yellow, september a deep red, october is black, november is a mustard color and december is forest green. when I pictures a year I picture it as squares filled in with the right color. This could just be one of my weird things, but what you are describing just kind of sounded similar.

also, days of the week have a color as well. Monday is red, tuesday is blue, wednesday is yellow, thursday is purple, friday is orange, and saturday and sundary are both white. but sunday is more an off white. And yes my colors are pretty exact. its not just a general purple or green or whatever, they have very specific appearances in my head. Also, except for july, they never change.

@stardustintheeyes: yep that’s definitely it! most people don’t realise they have it, because they assume everyone else sees things the same way.
@pinklemonade12: ahhh that’s amazing!! i do wish i saw letters/numbers as colours. apparently it’s really funny to put lots of people like that into a room and show them coloured letters and numbers. some people are really happy with them, and others are like “no no no, A is BLUE!!!” hahaha
@mrssoontobeh: yeah it’s pretty hard to understand if you don’t ‘see’ it – i’m the opposite, i can’t understand how you CAN’T visualise time! it’s so obvious!

@lookingglass: before reading this thread I really just thought I was a strange person. I didn’t realize this was actually a thing. And actually, now that I give this more thought I definitely do this with lots and lots of things. days of the week, numbers, letters, decades, high school years (freshman, sophomore etc). Its really pretty detailed too. I can picture all of these things and they all have colors and a very distinct appearance in my head. so weird! but good to know that im not alone in doing this.
