We are looking at 4 options in our town for table and chair rentals. I’m wondering a few things:
- If you had a cocktail hour or dance, did people mostly sit or stand/dance? Cocktail table to guest ratio? Is it better to have short tables people can sit around, or tall ones they can stand at? If a mix, what do you recommend? Our party will be pretty casual, but I don’t want anyone leaving early because their feet are tired!
- If you had to set up/break down between parts of the day, how long did it take? We’re having alcohol-free dinner (as mandated by our religious center’s board) at one site, followed by drinks and dancing at another nearby site (a private home, so no staff), and someone’s going to have to put our tables away after the first part so they’re not sitting outdoors all night — either storing in a shed, or bringing them to the second site.
They could either carry the tables over, or we could double up on rentals (and cost!) and set up in both places ahead of time. Any ideas?
The difference in cost (doubling up vs. renting a few chairs and tables for the second portion of the night) is probably about $75+ of a $200 rental budget — less cost here means more money for food and alcohol! I have priced out all four places and it looks like they range from $175-$210 before tax; we’ll have some more flexibility if our religious venue lets us use their chairs outdoors. I was originally hoping to spend $100 total, so this is a stretch no matter what.
